Review: House of Cards Collapses, Finally | Vanity Fair

The escalation of tension between Frank and Tusk in “Chapter 22” amounts to little in the subsequent two hours of House Of Cards, which are the very definition of “all talk, no action.” Well, there is a little action near the end of “Chapter 24,” as if the writers suddenly realized nothing of consequence had happened in quite some time and they needed to do something drastic to get House of Cards—Season 2 really amplifies Underwood’s rage to an almost unrealistic level at points. Be it the shocking murder of Zoe Barnes (which I do not believe Underwood would directly involve himself in) at the beginning of the season to the quest for the Presidency, Underwood is a villain that surprisingly has people rooting for him. House Of Cards is a good show, looking at the cold, calculating nature of politics and how those who exploit seem to be willing to put themselves in exploitable situations at times. However, that said, the effusive, even hyperbolic praise which surrounds it is a bit much. Frank haunts the final House Of Cards season premiere, but it's Claire's show now. Scott Von Doviak. 22.
