jffs has to be used from internal flash. usb mount is delayed depending on the speed of your stick or harddrive. so if /jffs is not mounted at time openvpn is started, it cannot work. /jffs is supposed to be used by the jffs flash filesystem. for anything else. which you made custom you have to take care by yourself to resolv your issue. one I selected USB "jffs" as the disk mount point, since that's what the miniDLNA interface defaults to - at least, it worked for me!
